Frequently Asked Questions

This section answers some of the most common questions people have while using Notion2Gcal. If you have a question that isn't addressed here, please check the Support page for information on how to contact us.

How can I sync multiple Google calendars or accounts?

Notion2Gcal uses the Google account that you connected when authorising the app. All calendars and events created or updated by the service are created via that account. If you want to sync calendars that belong to a different Google account (for example a personal calendar and a work calendar), there are two options:

Please note that syncing calendars on behalf of multiple different people is against our Terms of Service. A subscription is intended for a single subscribed user, and only calendars that this subscribed user personally uses should be synced.

  • Share the calendar with your primary account: In Google Calendar, open the calendar you want to sync, click the three‑dot menu and share it with the Google account you used to authenticate Notion2Gcal. Grant make changes permission. Once shared, you can select that calendar as the target in your automation and Notion2Gcal will be able to create and update events there.
  • Use separate subscriptions: If you prefer to keep accounts completely separate, you can purchase an additional subscription and connect the second Google account separately. Each subscription manages its own set of automations and calendars.

Why aren’t my Google Calendar events appearing in Notion?

Only automations configured with Two-way synchronization will create or update Notion pages based on Google Calendar events. This two‑way synchronisation is available with the premium subscription. To enable it, edit your automation and turn on Two-way synchronization. Keep in mind that only events created or updated after you enable this setting will be added to Notion. Also ensure that the Notion database has the necessary properties (such as title and date) mapped so that Notion2Gcal can populate them.

What date range does Notion2Gcal synchronise?

To keep synchronisation fast and efficient, Notion2Gcal only processes items within a rolling time window. Items dated far in the past or very far into the future are ignored until they fall within that window. As a rule of thumb, tasks with a due date only are synced from roughly a week in the past up to about a month in the future. Events with specific start and end times are synchronised over a longer horizon. The exact horizon varies depending on your plan and may change in future versions.

I received a “Sync limit reached” message. What does this mean?

On the free plan the number of tasks processed in each sync cycle is limited. If your automation contains more items than the limit, Notion2Gcal will stop processing further pages and report sync limit reached. To resolve this you can:

  • Move items out of the synced database so fewer items need to be processed.
  • Upgrade to the premium subscription, which has much higher per‑sync limits and processes more items in each run.

Why am I getting notifications for every update after enabling two‑way sync?

Notion sends notifications whenever a page’s status, assignee or date changes. When two‑way sync is enabled, changes made in Google Calendar (for example rescheduling an event) cause updates in Notion, which in turn trigger notifications to anyone watching that page. You can reduce the number of notifications by adjusting the Notify me setting on your Notion tasks. Open the menu (•••) and change Notify me to Replies & Mentions.

Can Notion2Gcal sync pages without a date?

No. Notion2Gcal requires a date property to determine when to schedule an event. Pages without a date are ignored. If you want a page to appear in your calendar, make sure the relevant date property is filled in before the next sync runs.

My work calendar is read‑only. Can I sync to it?

Notion2Gcal can only create or update events on calendars where your Google account has make changes permission. If your company calendar is read‑only, the service will not be able to write to it. To use that calendar you will need to ask an administrator to grant your account write access or create a new shared calendar with appropriate permissions.

How often does synchronisation run?

Notion2Gcal runs syncs at regular intervals. On free accounts this is typically every 2 hours. Premium subscriptions run every 5 minutes, which reduces the time between making a change and seeing it reflected in your calendar. When you edit a page or an event it may take a few minutes before the changes propagate, so please be patient.

Where can I get support?

If you run into problems or have feature requests, please visit the Support page. It lists the available support channels (such as email and discussion forums) and has pointers for common troubleshooting steps. When asking for help, include the automation ID and a description of the problem to help us diagnose your issue quickly.
